AC Installation & Replacement
Free in-home quotes, usually installed the same day
We’ll come out to your home and give you an installation quote at absolutely no charge. If you decide to move forward, in most cases the installation can be completed the very same day. The goal is simple: get you cool again as fast as possible, at a fair price.
What goes into a Cold Snap installation
- Sized for your home. Square footage is only the start. Insulation, windows, sun exposure and ductwork all affect the right size, and an oversized system leaves a Florida home cold and clammy.
- Options, explained plainly. A dependable standard system and a higher-efficiency option, side by side, so you can weigh upfront cost against monthly savings.
- Permitted and code-compliant. AC replacements in Florida require a permit and inspection. Your outdoor unit is anchored to meet Florida Building Code wind requirements.
- Tested before we leave. Refrigerant charge, airflow, drain, thermostat and safety controls are checked on startup.
Systems we install
Split-system central air, heat pumps, packaged units for homes without indoor space, and ductless mini-splits for rooms the ducts never reached. See the AC systems guide for a plain-English breakdown of each.
SEER2 and the new refrigerants, simply
SEER2 is the efficiency rating on new systems. Higher is more efficient. In Florida, most new split-system air conditioners must be at least 14.3 SEER2. Because we run our AC most of the year, higher-efficiency and variable-speed equipment often pays for itself faster here, and controls humidity better.
New systems now use lower-impact A2L refrigerants such as R-454B or R-32. If your current system uses R-22 (most installed before 2010), replacement is usually the smart move: R-22 hasn’t been produced since 2020 and refills are expensive.
Signs it’s time to replace
- Your system is 12 to 15+ years old, or uses R-22.
- You’ve needed more than one significant repair in two years.
- Your electric bill keeps climbing even though your habits haven’t changed.
- Some rooms never cool down, or the house feels humid even when it’s cool.
