AC Repair in Port Charlotte & Southwest Florida

What we fix

Most AC breakdowns in Southwest Florida come down to a short list of parts that work harder here than anywhere else in the country. We repair all of them, on most major brands:

  • Capacitors and contactors. The most common summer failure. The outdoor unit hums but the fan won’t spin, or nothing outside starts at all.
  • Clogged condensate drains and float switches. Water in the pan, on the floor or dripping through a ceiling, or an AC that shuts itself off.
  • Refrigerant leaks. We find and repair the leak instead of just topping it off and sending you a bill again next summer.
  • Frozen evaporator coils. Ice on the copper lines or indoor coil, usually from airflow problems or low refrigerant.
  • Fan and blower motors. Grinding, squealing, or air that barely moves through the vents.
  • Compressors. Diagnosed honestly, with a straight answer on whether a compressor repair or a new system makes more sense.
  • Thermostats, control boards and wiring. Blank screens, short cycling, or a system that won’t respond.

How a repair visit works

  1. Book online or call. Choose “As soon as possible” and we’ll call you back with the first opening.
  2. Diagnosis. We test the system, find the cause, and show you what we found.
  3. Price before work. You get the repair price up front. If replacement makes more sense, you’ll get both numbers and an honest recommendation.
  4. Fixed and tested. Repairs are completed and the system is checked before we leave.

Why ACs break down here

Port Charlotte air conditioners run nine-plus months a year against heat, humidity and summer lightning. Salt air from Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf corrodes outdoor coils and electrical connections, and power surges from afternoon storms take out capacitors and boards. That’s why small problems escalate fast here, and why a quick repair now is usually far cheaper than an emergency later.

Repair or replace?

If your system is more than 12 years old, uses R-22 refrigerant, or keeps breaking down, it may be time to compare a repair against a new system. Try the repair-or-replace calculator, and know that we’ll always give you the repair option honestly, even when it’s the cheaper one.
